Dr. Vernon Paltoo

President – National Energy Corporation

Dr. Vernon Paltoo was promoted to President of the National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited on 1st January 2013. Since joining National Energy in 2004, he has held several senior positions including: Team Leader, Business Development; Team Leader, Office of the President; Manager, Energy Industry Development; and Vice President, Operations. He has worked on the conceptualisation, design, development and promotion of Industrial and Energy Related Projects in Trinidad and Tobago through several State Agencies and Academic Institutions for the past 20 years.

In addition to sitting on the Board of NGC CNG Company Limited, Dr. Paltoo is also a member of the Board of the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago (ECTT). Previously he has served on the Boards of the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Petrotrin) and InvesTT Limited. Dr. Paltoo has also lectured on a part-time basis at the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) on multiple aspects of the energy industry. His areas of expertise include Industrial Development, Engineering Design, Energy Economics and Project Economics. He has a B.Sc. in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of the West Indies.
